It has been said that women are the shock absorbers of society. When things get difficult it often falls to us to find a solution, pick up the pieces, and do more... give more.
But what if you simply can't do more? What if you have given so much already that there seems to be little of you left?
If life feels overwhelming for you right now, please know you don't have to bear it alone. I love to come along side women and moms who are struggling with stress, anxiety, ADHD, parenting, relationships, boundaries, and self care.
I offer convenient, confidential video-based telehealth sessions to women and moms across the state of Connecticut. Many busy moms find time to meet with me while their little ones nap. Some women in corporate positions meet with me on their lunch break. All you need, is a quiet space with privacy and a good internet connection.
I enjoy working one-on-one with women who are interested in a "deeper dive" into the possible underlying factors that may be the fuel behind their anxiety, feelings of overwhelm, and dysregulated nervous system. I offer a fresh perspective, evidence-based treatments, and a warm and encouraging space for you re-discover you again.
Christianity and therapy are often seen as at odds with one another within the church. However, this doesn't have to be the case. For women interested in making faith a part of their treatment, I offer a thoughtful approach that meets at the intersection of Christianity and therapeutic models. Together we will explore your mental health in the context of your relationship with God, your understanding of His grace, and His heart for you.
Parenting changes us. We uncover parts of us we never knew were there. Our own childhood, our past experiences, our children's struggles, the comparison game, balancing work and family - these all combine to create unique and sometimes overwhelming challenges. I equip parents of children of all ages with the skills, resources, and insights needed to navigate the ever-changing landscape of parenting.
Ever since I took my first psychology class in 10th grade, I have been fascinated with the field. I love to study, learn and think about the ways in which faith and psychology intersect.
I have a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, Sociology and Christian Ministries. I also have a Master's of Social Work in Clinical Practice from Southern Connecticut State University. I was licensed in the State of Connecticut in 1999.
Over the course of my career, I have worked with groups, families and individuals of all ages in community mental health and private practice settings. I have also enjoyed conducting parenting seminars and workshops and leading parenting small groups.
My heart often finds its expression in the written word and you can find some of my musings on the topic of parenting, faith and mental health over at Cornerstones for Parents. I am also the author of More Than a Conqueror: A Christian Kid's Guide to Winning the War on Worry, a faith-based workbook for 8-12 year olds struggling with anxiety.
If you have any questions about me or my experience or would just like to connect, please contact me. I would love to hear from you.
